Happy New Year and hello 2005! Christmas was rediculouly wonderful. We saw and heard from tons of family and friends, ate, drank (and was merry), and to top it all off, we managed to find a wedding dress. So glad to have heard from all of you in one way or another! It was so lovely catching up and finding out what everyone has been up to.
As for the wedding dress....
For some time now today has been slated as the day in which my mother and I go off in Normal Rockwell style in search of the "perfect" wedding dress. I admit I was not really looking forward to this task. Besides donning a new layer of Christmas fat on my body, I knew there was no way we would escape this day morally unscathed and with our fingernails in tack. I even had a dream last night that I had two hours till "I do" and was sponging out of some hideous gauze-like wedding dress a massive gravy stain. I took it as a bad omen from the fates above.
Nevermind a silly old dream! After surveying only the second wedding dress I have EVER looked at, and doing quite a bit of sucking in and holding my breath, we decided it was perfect and that was that. Who knew! Beginners luck perhaps?
So the New Year is off to a great start - and at least I will be dressed for the wedding! That is a relief.
And the clock keeps on ticking...
Our feeble but noble attempt to update our friends and family "back-home" (choose one) on what we are up to on our adventures abroad. This year, CONGO!

Don't forget...because we might.
Yes - the wedding clock. Occationally I update this site and casually glance at the time bomb at the bottom of the site. I laugh to myself and say to Marcus - "heh babe, only x-amount of days till the Wedding". Which is usually followed by more nervous laughter and generally some naive statement from Marcus like "We have everything done really, don't we?". I love Marcus, I really do. Incidentally, we have everything important figured out - such as I want to marry Marcus, he wants to marry me, the number of guests attending, where and what we are eating and how much wine will will serve. What else is there to figure out? Please don't actually respond to this post with a list mom. Apparently there are important things like flowers, a minister, a permit, a dress, a cake, music, a photographer...Yes, I am aware that the clock is ticking and many details will have to be worked out. I have to go now and deal with an acute attack of nausea. Please enjoy the clock.
