Happy New Year! Or rather, the Bride-to-be gloats...

Happy New Year and hello 2005! Christmas was rediculouly wonderful. We saw and heard from tons of family and friends, ate, drank (and was merry), and to top it all off, we managed to find a wedding dress. So glad to have heard from all of you in one way or another! It was so lovely catching up and finding out what everyone has been up to.

As for the wedding dress....
For some time now today has been slated as the day in which my mother and I go off in Normal Rockwell style in search of the "perfect" wedding dress. I admit I was not really looking forward to this task. Besides donning a new layer of Christmas fat on my body, I knew there was no way we would escape this day morally unscathed and with our fingernails in tack. I even had a dream last night that I had two hours till "I do" and was sponging out of some hideous gauze-like wedding dress a massive gravy stain. I took it as a bad omen from the fates above.

Nevermind a silly old dream! After surveying only the second wedding dress I have EVER looked at, and doing quite a bit of sucking in and holding my breath, we decided it was perfect and that was that. Who knew! Beginners luck perhaps?

So the New Year is off to a great start - and at least I will be dressed for the wedding! That is a relief.

And the clock keeps on ticking...
